Big cats what do people think are they out there ? Have you seen one ?

There are reports of sightings in the area where I live. One guy I know caimed to have seen one whaile he was at work one night (he was a security guard at a factory). He said it was all black and about the size of a big dog. There have been some reported sightings near a avillage a few miles from where I live - I often think of them when I'm out with the lamp in the dead of night. Would a .17HMR stop one? Probably not....

Close range to the head would just how long could you hold your nerve lol

I thought it possible too, until it was pointed out that all animals will leave tracks.

Many experienced trackers have gone looking, no proof found, my thoughts now think that there are none surviving in the wild.

Iv also got a friend who is a traffic cop and doesnt talk out his arse who was fishing in Talgarth with me who ran phoned me from the other side of the lake we were on to ask if I could see anything outside his bivvy as he was woke by something large which ran off and put the wind up him enough to want to pack up and leave at 2 in the morning and there have been tracks found just not decimate evidence of a large cat because no claw marks were seen but then I also thought large cats would have been de clawed anyway ? I never go walking alone now without a bag of cat nibbles just in case

Big cats are very very illusive, but having said that in all the many years people have been saying that there are big cats out there know one has actually had a positive sighting!

I'm sure that if they are out there that some of our deer stalker's sitting in a high seat would have seen atleast one by now not only that what about the carcasses of animals it has killed for instance Deer, Sheep etc why havent we been seeing these around. I'm sure our game keepers and farmers would have come across a few by now.
Then there are the Hunts, how many have been flushed out? ok they are illusive but I would have thought at the very least 1 would have been flushed out by now.

And as already mentioned what about the tracks left in mud and snow?

Size of a large dog? Guess what?

We thought it was a large dog at first, it was sat near the cliff edge like a cat would. It looked over at us, about 40 yards 70 yards away.
Then it stood up onto all fours and walked away down the cliff bank. But the way it walked, the shoulders were that of a cat, not a dog.

My son and i sat watching a large cat like animal about 500 yrds away whilst fishing one day......people have said it might of been a black lab...no way this thing moved liked a cat

many years ago as a young squaddie on salisbury plain my self and 3 others all saw what at first we thought was a black dog...a big black alsation or whatever..then as it walked closer we reaalised it was a cat and bigger than any alsation! it was middle of summer and only just'light'and this thing simply walked doen the trail towards us without a care in the world,then it saw us and stood watching us watching him lol...then it simply walked off into the bushes.
Obviously we all talked about it and we all know what we saw! this was 1979 or thereabouts and we hadnt heard of any other sightings so it wasnt as if we saw 'something' and interpreted it as a cat it was more we saw a 'cat' but couldnt believe what was stood in front of us(100m).
funny thing was,a short while later a policeman who lived in the police station(small village type station)went out to his police car early in the morning to find big footprints on the bonnet/roof...he had a expert look at them and he confirmed it was somekind of very large cat..and it then hit the local paper etc,we nevver bothered reporting it,whats the point? and obviously since then succesive goverments have simply denied the existance of any such wild animal,but then again ive yet to meet or hear any politician that isnt a self serving liying thief anyway so in much the same way as they deny reports i also know that anything a politician says is anything but an honest answer so i guess the denial will continue for another 30 years,though ive no doubt they will suddenley become an every day occurance if they could somehow be claimed for on an expence sheet
