Never really been a pc gamer , but I am toying with the idea of trying this out on the ps3 . I've heard so many good things about it , that it may become an imminent purchase .

I've been hitting the pc version and it's truly immense, but be warned - it'll supercede any games you're currently playing: it's not a pick up and play 20 minute run & gun affair.
Graphics, atmosphere, sounds, the whole shebang - a resounding 10 out of 10.
If you want a game that's gonna have the longevity of Dracula then get this - the pc version knocks the console versions on their arse and the modding community are drooling at the prospect of adding new content to it.

Alot of people are addicted to this game, it did nothing as for sales compared to the mogul MW3, which is a pile of shite. Should of purchased this instead. The map is so vast its untrue. Shows what they really can put on a disc these days. Beats slow paced fall out 3.
Oh yeah another thing egg, if you like modders pushing the games boundry you should check out portal 2. There is a download out there which is 7 gigs big, it adds 700+ maps which basically makes the games lifespan more than 10 times big :P. also there is a tool out there to make your own maps. Will be complex though figuring out a map that provides a challenge.
I had a major seshoon of this last night until 0300 (worry not at this early rise - just getting back into my normal routine after a run of nights, now got 6 rest days to look forward to).
There's a patch due out in around a week or so's time to address issues but, apart from a couple of rare CTD's, I've not come across any showstoppers yet.
It's the same engine as Fallout 3 with the same open-world sandbox feel to it but they're 2 different games altogether: F3 is very post-apocalyptic Mad Max stuff but Skyrim is really heavy fantasy/D&D with a huge splattering of magic. You can run around hacking things to bits and complete the story (supposed to take around 80 hours using this method) but that's not even touching the surface of the game. Use of magic and stealthy weapons (some of the long range bow headshots I've pulled off are the stuff of legend!) really lets you get into character. I've hardly touched the main storyline - I've been sidetracked on quests for this, that and the other - and spend half my time gawping at the gorgeous scenery or listening to the superbly atmospheric soundtrack.
I bought BF3 the week before and was hitting that hard but as soon as Skyrim came out, I haven't even booted BF3 to allow EA's spyware Origin to perform the latest patch.
The only thing Skyrim doesn't have is multiplayer but who needs that when you can join the Inner Circle of the Companions and get the ability to transform yourself into a werewolf? Much more fun than raging at a bunch of n00bs or lamers running around the place spoiling your game![]()
