Are you doing it on game+?? I tried zealot that way and strolled through it! So hard core might be about right. I did impossible on DS1 over and over and loved it.

I decided to challenge myself and start hardcore from scratch. Definitely not a good call! Although I've mastered picking up poles and keeping one with me for emergencies!

The biggest problem I'm having now is having enough free time to work my way through 4 chapters at a time. Not far off getting to the Ishimura now though...

LOL. I always do any game on easy first so as to get the feel of it. Did you play DS 1??

I see it won't allow hardcore as a game+, it has to be done from scratch. So as soon as I complete zealot I will be trying hardcore. I was going to ask you how you were allocating the three saves. Once I can get to the store the first few chapters should be manageable at speed but when to to take a break???? The force gun (shotgun really) is the must have tool for the harder levels!! I haven't used the Javelin gun at all yet, what's it like??

I didn't actually play DS1, but if it's anything like *that* level from DS2 I think I'm going to pick up a used copy. I really like the force gun - tend to turn to the line gun and plasma cutter the most, and the plasma machine gun effort for those horrible screaming children and the glowing exploding things (technical term of course!). With hardcore, my main approach I've been taking has been the "run past as much as I possibly can" approach - it's not let me down so far!

The force gun in DS1 was very different - it would just knock the critters back a few feet so you can't kill them in the same was as the force gun's shotgun-like ability in DS2. I used it for the secondary bombs and even then that wasn't as good as the line gun secondary.

As for the kids, get in the right position and they will run in a line to you, just like ducks all lined up.

DS2 has certainly been an advance like flying around in zero G but DS1 had the atmosphere and more difficult functionality - like getting health for example.

I have decided to give hardcore a miss so as to keep both my health and my sanity.
