Exclamation Found a gun in my back garden!

Right I'm doing my dads garden because he is on holiday, I was digging a patch of dirt and I hit something hard pulled it out and it was a gun really crusty could not really see anything except the handle which also had rotted because it is wood, on top of the gun there is a separate barrel kind of thing then there is a big barrel bellow it, it weighs quite a bit that's what made me think is this a real gun. I will try and get some pictures up later, was thinking about cleaning it up or even selling it to someone who deals with this sort of thing.
