Most gunsmiths will simply return the gun to the manufacturers as they don't have the tools to remove the AT either. This means the owner is gunless for some time.

Yes I must agree with all said previousley that AT is a" you can only have it serviced here" licence to hold pcp owners to ransom. Your pcp drops to 9.5ft lb and you either accept it or bite the bullet and pay for the privelage of being without your gun for a while.I'm luckey enough to own an old rapid wich you can whip out of the stock and adjust in no time,and i do so to stay within the law. If a nacker wants to turn it up to the mightey 12.8 ft lb it will go to and run all the risks that come with it then let him face the concequences.You can commit a crime with a golf club if your determined enough, dont make me pay for there stupiditey.

So if the power tails off to the point it becomes a joke and you take your gun into the Gunsmiths, do they have to re-seal it before you get your repaired gun back????

Last I heard only Manufactures can Service them

As They - trade had not supplied any AT- Service Kits to other Gunsmiths

It's been reported that Air Arms - will retro fit AT to any Gun they Service

It seems others do not - Only resealing AT fitted Gun's

Rather Hard to find out as Most Gun Owner Forum Boards
Are not allowed to discuss the issue

That discussing issue - might result in Government - making it Legal
And Banning All Gun's not fitted with AT -

The Joke is that - They orginally drew up a code - that would advise
Customers of what they was doing and why

But seems none have followed it through -
The part advising owners of AT - fitted

Also due to Quality control problems - some Gun's are coming out Sealed
that Exceed the Sub 12FP Rule

Which results in becoming the customers problem
Could result in Gun being Destroyed -
Get's rather interesting if Dealer is Not a Fire Arms Rated RFD

Reasons I have strongly suggested - When buying a Air Gun New or 2nd Hand - that Gun's are chronoed before you part with your Funds

As once you accept and pay for Gun it becomes your problem
And you are liable for costs etc............
