I know it has a gauge on it, but i have been told once it gets down a certain level you lose a certain amount of power.(newbie to these guns)

Shots

Hi Mine which is a 177 pressurised to 170 bar gives me around 45 shots which are almost identical. the first few will be a bit low on power and so will be the last few, but the poi " point of impact" at around 35mtrs won't be far out.
You can of course take the pressure up to 190 but from there on down to around 170 the power will be low. but OK for close range plinking.
Hope this helps.

PS. The one thing you can't rely on is the pressure gauge on a AA 4/510 it's only a "VERY" rough guide. Mine reads 170bar when I have in fact just put in 190

you'd be better off filling it up and testing it on a target like a A4 sheet and do a shot count and not the drop off point after a while!

hi my 410 has a sweet spot at 160 bar on its gauge but its .177 so shot count will be different the air arms manual is in the airgun data section and should have the fill and refill pressures in it if any help.

Now then, dont take this the wrong way. I know about asking questions and all. But did you do any research before buying the AA? Some people dont read FAQ's or look into other sources. And then regret buying what ever it was. Hope you enjoy shooting with it. You get more shots in .22 Have you had any other air rifles?
