    hw90 project

my friend has just given me a hw90 with a gas ram. it has recently come back from theoben having the gas ram serviced and all the seals changed and there is a £97 reciept for the parts and work done. the gun is 12ft/lb and shoots really well and is really smooth. i should have the pump and the valve for adjusting the pressure in the gas ram in a few days aswell. there is nothing wrong with the gun apart from the stock has been varnished and needs stripping, re-staining and oiling and the blueing needs taking off and re-blueing.
ive ordered a blue wonder cleaning and blueing kit from america and i need to make my mind up on what stain and oil to use on the stock so i would be greatfull for any ideas.

heres a link to the blue wonder website - Blue Wonder Gun Care Products - Online Store

i will take plenty of pictures of the progress and comment on different stages of the work. i'll be back in a few minutes with some pics of how i recieved it and before i start work on it

hi norrie, i do like it already but not had time to bond with it like my hw77k that i just sold to mick. the hw90 is mechanically sound and shoots fine as it is. ive already done a few targets with it and its really smooth and very quiet and it hasnt even got a silencer on it yet and not sure weather im going to bother with 1 - its a full length barrel and long enough as it is

the scopes are only cheap bushmaster 4x38 wide angle which was already on the gun so i think i'll be changing them for some simmons wtc.

    cheers

Max pressure for that ram should be 26bar. What happened to the 77? Did you fit all that stuff to it?

    Arrow

If the Gun has recently been serviced - do not touch Gas adjustment
    As is very finely Set

Yes it Can be pumped above - But the Gun will often Break a Sear
In which case when repaired -
If found to be over sub 12FP -
Theobans will not return it as it would be a Fire Arm

As Built as a Sub12FP - and will not work over powered -

Yes it might go for a while - but get's rougher before breaking

    From personal Experience

    Yes I do have a .22 one

    .

ive got a .177 version which has been my favourite gun for a few years may possibly be swapping it for a s410 but not sure at all. ive hear if youve got the .22 version and stick a .177 gas ram in it then it becomes FAC whether doing it this way doesnt risk breaking the gun i am unsure? i could do with pumping my gas ram up as its only putting out just under 11ft/lb. great gun though
after a diana 54 if anyone has one in good nick they'd like to part with? thanks

hi guys, ive still got this hw90 and im thinking about selling it. i stripped the stock back to the orignal wood and re-stained it and it looks great - it just needs oiling now. i stripped the main cylinder, barrel and block down to bare metal and started the bluing on the barrel an block and the main cylinder is ready for bluing. the bluing is quite easy with the blu wonder blu kit that i have its just abit time consuming. the gun is still stripped down waiting to be completed by some1 who has more time and interest than myself. all the parts are there and could be put back together in 15 minutes and used like it is however it has taken me hours and hours to rub down the stock and get all the blacl paint off the metal so it would be a shame to rush it and get it back together without doing a propper job. i fired about 50 shots through it before i started work on te cosmeticsand it shot really well. i could of left it how it was but im fussy and wanted it looking mint.
if any1 is interested in the rifle then im sure we could come up with a deal so you can reply to the thred or send me a pm. if you want it then it would be best if you came and picked it up and we could put it together and test the actions/mechanic of the gun and you could see what you were buying.
    cheers
