how can you decide what is a "good" or "bad" pellet for your gun, what is there to look for when shooting a "good" or "bad" pellets to help you decide.

i can fully understand the reasoning behind the tip/shape of the pellet and its relationship to shooting needs etc.

    thanks

I would dearly like the OP to read my Advice J M Ramsbottom thread, and let me know his thoughts.

Good Pellet = tight groupings at the ranges you shoot at,
Bad Pellet = wide groupings at any range.

thats the basics of it as far as i see it.

Webley Accupell are far too expensive so Ive switched to Premier Magnum...same pellet £4 cheaper. I think they have a higher lead content and my r 10 loves them.

Thanks for that. Where do you get yours from because all the shops over here in guernsey seem to rip me off!

Heres where it gets confusing...Premier are Crossman who used to make AccuPell. Crossman got rid of the name to Webley who now make AccuPell. Premier now call there Magnums the most ACCUrate PELLet in the world....work that lot out!!!

I used to get my pellets from e bay but the post has got ridiculous. I now pay £8 for a tin of 500 brilliant pellets. Its taken me some time to find the best one for my rifle but once you find the right pellet, stick with it for life!!

I dont understand why some people are using different pellets for plinking in the garden and different pellets for hunting. The onyl reason I plink is to practice for when I eventually get to hunt!!!

I dont know who are making Beeman pellets....probably H&N via RWS!!!!

    Pellets

Thats rediculous anyway thanks for telling me that. Yeah i get your point about changing pellets, because all pellets are different so surely you should use the same pellet so you can get used to how it drops and things like that. I also used to get some off ebay but you just can't get a good deal because the postage rates now are so high, I may start buying them in bulk once i find a pellet that works with the gun. I'm going to start a new thread and ask what the best pellet for a HW45 will be.
    Thanks for your help mate
