surely we are paying enough for rifles that the manufacturers should do the testing for us before we buy them, that way we know the best pellets to buy and use before we head out to the shop to buy them.

Manufacturers usually recommend their own brand pellets.

Because there are better pellets than own brand pellets.....? I must admit I haven't tried Weihrauch pellets yet. But can't see them beating AA fields or RWS Super Domes in my Hw's.

There is always significant benefits to assessing each pellet on the market. I would be more mindful than to just go with the manufacturers, they only want you to buy their product. Instead, have a play and see which feels right. Only you can know your own personal requirements.

I recently read an article about Eley Wasp pellets which pointed out that over the years, these had changed from being one of the best for accuracy, constency etc to being very mediocre - due to their manufacture being transferred to overseas manufacturers and changes in tooling etc. Also, I understand they were 'badge engineered' and sold under other manufacturer's brands eg: BSA Pylarm.

Many pellets seem to be produced and sold in this way - for example I'm not convinced that Air Arms Diabolo Field are NOT same as JSB Exact.

Point is, when we buy pellets 'to try' - do we really know what we're buying?

    Cheers, Everybody

this is the same the world over (not just plts)

audi a3 1.4 petrol (same engine as skoda 1.4 and vw 1.4) this is one example in the automotive world.... there are MANY MANY more....

Everest (window people) actually do other things.... well sort of... all their drainage things were actually Polypipe manafactured (atleast made in england) and all their brick work was Bretts.(i dont think everest actually make anything as their windows are also made by someone else)

why pay for the tooling when you can bulk buy and get it repackaged from the origional maker!!!
halfords ownbrand oils/coolants are actually made and packaged by Comma oil and chemicals of england (owned by Exon Mobil)

i do a bit of cycling and i buy cheap clothing from ebay... its made in china..... if you buy the official gear this is also made there! there will be little differences but for the amount of cash you save.... i dont mind!

i do like to buy uk made if i can (hence Air Arms) soo i bought AA diabolo field..... turn it over and they are made in czech republic.....
this is why i will look at things that are slightly cheaper (ie scopes and things) alot of the time they are made in the same place im sure!...annoying thing is i would pay more for uk made but often feel what they actually want is a little too much more!
