GUN SHOPS AGAIN

I am looking for an Air Arms S200T at 6ftlbs cant seem to find a nice one second hand so decide to go for new.
So I phone round for best deal. Local gunshop says yes available but not in stock 48 hours delivery and gave me a price.
Second local "ish" shop says not available for over a year.
So I phone Air Arms who say in stock and still made!!!
Phone gunshop back to check why the duff information and they insist that Air arms have for a year or so been saying not now made! also have taken it off price list.
I find this very strange.

I come from a retail background and have visited a fair few gun shops. It astonishes me how some of those places keep going. If gun users weren't so passionate about their hobby then the trade would have disappeared into a vacuum of it's own ignorance, intolerance and amateurism a long long time ago.

Im still waiting for parts that I ordered on the 23/12/11!!! Only shop that can get them for me!

What parts are they?! people wait less time than that for a kidney!!

Either that or ask Air Arms if there is a recommended dealer in your area. Go there, however if it is the same shop you are using tell Air Arms that the recommended shop does not know their buttocks from the middle joint on their arm and ask them to have a words as it is preventing a sale on one of these guns. Try asking for a T200, the other half had one and it was a T200, not an S200!

It certainly is the shops fault! I rang hull up for parts for my HW100, parts that chambers etc dont sell, they said they would be available from the 29/12/11 and order them from my local. Rang my local and ordered said parts. Call after call later turns out they sent parts back to hull as they didn't know what they were for, and that was on the 16th jan! So god knows whats going on still.

oh my goodness, in which case probably find another gunshop. If they're having parts arrive and they dont know why then they're clearly incompetent!
This is exactly what I mean. I think people just set up a gun shop cos they like guns and fettling - but they never take any training, advice or interest in how to actually run and succeed in retailing. There are some real horror-show shops in this industry!
