    Insurance on your guns?

Anybody added up the value of all their guns and equipment? its valuable, so do you insure it seperately or hope the house insurance will pay out?

Probably a good idea to note all serial numbers and take photos for ID and insurance purpose? Thoughts?

I have all my stuff declared on the household as sporting equipment and pay an extra £5 or so on top of the annual premium. As you say, jot down serial numbers etc and it's also a good idea to have photographs of the gear, preferably with any serial numbers visible: I keep a wee database with pictures of the guns that come in/go out. Probably anal but if the worst came to the worst I can produce all the evidence needed as everything's stored on 3 cloud servers along with a shedload of other important stuff.

    Like I said..... anal!

Depends on the company TBH Dave - phone them up and ask for their written policy on sporting goods and if they're not included on policy ask if there's an add-on that would include them. If not, shop around, most of the big insurers have policies for firearms - they'd be mental not to.

    @ Size12 - you said it mate
