Hey
Im getting a V-Mach kit for my tx200hc
How easy are these to fit, I have worked on a number of air guns before, but never fitted a V-mach kit, I just have a few questions:
1) are they easy to fit
2) Do you require and special tools to fit it
3) I have been told that the v-mach kit main spring is under less pressure than the original, thats why the gun is easier to load after fitting, is this true?
4) Does the spring have to be compressed allot to fit the gun back together, or will arm strength and body weight be enough to reassemble?
5) How long before the gun settles down after fitting the new kit?
Cheers, Chris.
A gun is like a condom. I would rather have one, and not need it. Then need one, and not have it.

I personaly would of left the tx200 standered as they are basicaly tuned from the box,its up to you though but i would defo put it over a chrono after you fit the kit as the tx200 is hard to improve without going over the limit.

I have to agree with flukey, don't bother as they don't need fixing.
I have a Pro Sport (which is essentially the same gun) that I fitted a V-Mach to and I have to say I can't really tell the difference as it was so good to begin with.
I got 8mm groups at 35 yards no problem and its the same with the kit fitted.
I originally fitted it to reduce the hold sensitivity but I have to say that I don't really find it a problem anyway. Mind you, I did need to do something to it because it was running at over 12flb when I got it
But to answer your questions...
1) Yes
2) No, just allen keys and a spanner
3) Only slightly
4) No, its only under about a half inch pre-load in the TX and Pro Sport
5) I found it was about 100 shots or so
Hope this helps![]()
Pelllet on pellet at unlimited range regardless of conditions (yeah right)
The problem with the tx is its a mk2 and is relatively low on power, after disassembling everything but piston, and having talked to original owner, it seems it has never had a new spring fitted since original. Then looking at prices its an extra £15-£20 for a V-mach kit which contains everything the standard spring replacement one does, but is apparently better and makes it shoot smoother.
Unless there is suggestion for another possible reason for low power?

If it's in need of attention anyway then fit the kit. Simple enough to do and no preload worth mentioning. Don't expect it to be noticeably better than a good std one though. To make any real improvement on a TX requires expert attention.
