i have been to a couple of gunshops and trying a few pcp guns out, when the conversation gets to charging they all seem to say that a pump is just for topping up the rifle while out in the field or at the club, and the divers bottle is for main filling, wonder if anyone could shed some light on this as the pump is about £150 and a 13kg divers bottle £220 ish.. sorry to hijack the thread

I think both are great and have the FX 3 Stage Pump, it takes me a couple of minutes to get from 100bar to 180bar with no difficulty, I would only consider the 4 Stage version if I was pumping to much a higher pressure. I'm sure they're easier to use but not by much and is it worth paying the extra?.

I would say that that is rubbish, both would be a bind to carry around the field, a divers bottle obviously a lot easier to fill your rifle and a pump yes a little work needed to fill but if yuo don't allow your rifle to get too low then not a real problem.
Ive got a Webley pump for my Axsor both are now 15yrs old and filling her up isnt a problem.

I have Hills and FX 4 stage(The FX is for the higher pressure buddy bottles I keep for field top-ups), both are excellent.
I had an RWS which was also a fine pump but gave this to my next door neighbor last year to complement his HPA bottle.
I've only ever heard bad things about the Gunpower pumps,

Buy a bottle fill your gun in seconds all that hard work using a pump! No matter what pump you buy all sales blag they are no where near as good as using a bottle. By time you have filled your gun I've had my rabbits been the pub and tucking into my rabbit curry stew!
