Any chemical that strips metal in the home?

Looking at something to soak my trigger in its filthy and all the wet and dry and autosol rubbing in the world isn't removing some of the dirt on it. I didn't know if theirs any secret recipe I can leave it soak in to remove the dirt? Like bleech or baking powder or something.

you could try brick cleaner mate, this is an acid based chemical, so be careful, you get it in b&q.

    cheers

i use this to strip and clean old cabinet handles, it does work, with a little rubbing with wet and dry.

Vinegar usually does the trick. Or get some brake cleaner from your local greasemonkeys!

Depends on what the dirt is and what the metal is.

Soak it (overnight) in kerosene - then set about it with a toothbrush - then buy a new toothbrush.

Brick cleaner is hydrochloric acid - effective against some dirts - useless with others - and capable of eating some metals.
Caustic soda works well on most organic fats and greases - safe on steel - but will dissolve a reckord trigger blade really quite quickly....

I also say caustic soda (drain unblocker) but don't leave it in long, 3 second dip then wipe. Then dip then wipe, dip then wipe. If you soaked it for an hour there wouldn't be much left
