In my case all that glitters (R-10 MKII) is gold, it's incredibly accurate and so far relaible but that does not leave you anything for scope/bottle/etc.

I will keep this short as I am on my phone.
I have. Budget of £800 for a pukka air rifle. I need advice as to what would best suit my needs.
I would simply be using it for target shooting and pest control. Rabbits, rats and pigeons, nothing more nothing less.
I have always been told .22 for fur .177 for feather? So.22 is for me.
I have always wanted to stick with British. Also good proper traditional and reliable power. No electronic nonsense. It HAS to be bolt action, and ideally more than single shot. That's all I require from a gun.
I was thinking BSA R10 MK II but I Was told all that glitters ain't gold! However, it looks great. But can I get something just as good or better for same price or less?
I just don't want to spend all that money on a gun that I could get elsewhere in a different model.
Many thanks,
James

Air Arms s400 super lite i will say this as it,s what me and the girlfriend (Tigger50) have
The only time you should look down on someone is when your helping them up.
get yourself to your nearest gun shop mate and spend a few hours looking at all the shiny things on offer.
make sure you carry your cash with you at all times as you never know when you will find something you like enough to make you part with the aforementioned cash.
Do some resurch online looking at reviews etc, then get yourself to a gun shop like said so you can sholder a few rifles to see what feels best for you, also dont believe all that .177 for feather stuff as i (and MANY others) use .177 for everything and believe me a rabbit goes straight down with a nice headshot and at greater distances than .22 as well![]()
.22 hw 97k(mike upton tuned)
.177 mk3 tx200hc
.177 hw80
.177 hw 100t
Try a Super 10, there are a few kicking around new, one was spotted in Befordshire last year, realiable, bolt action, with a good shot capacity in the air bottle, and I thing, beautiful to look at as well!
Go for an Air Arms S410 you'll not regret it!
Air Arms S410F Classic .177 w/Air Arms silencer & SMK 4-16x50AOE IR
Weihrauch HW97K .22 w/Hawke 3-9x40 IR
BSA Cadet Major .177
Miroku 800S 26"
Robinson Hammer 12G 30"
best gun you can get...thats a no brainer..'daystate huntsman classic' end of!
Hw 100 kt in .22 or.177 both will do the job, far better than any BSA . 2 magazines, one of the best silencers, superb cocking system what more do you want
Most important information is at what distance will you be shooting, any thing past 30-35 yards and .22 will drop quickly. Any further distance favours .177 and most competion shooters use .177. Accuracy is key especially when shooting rabbits or birds. Any of the guns mentioned will suit and fit becomes important as accuracy increases with stability. Suggest you visit your local air rifle club and plenty of gun shops.
