I owned aTX200hc .177 and thought it was a great bit of kit and shot superb. Thing is it was a lump of a gun and for that reason i sold it but what a rifle. Never had a HW98 but that too looks great, not sure on the weight compared to a TX though. You won't go wrong with eithier

Can't comment on the TX but I know my '98 is very accurate. Definately the most accurate of all my break barrels.. I really comes down to whether you want an underlever or a break barrel.

The Robin & Barc both make valid arguments - the TX is a solid bit of kit but that solidity comes in the form of a heavy bit of metal; the 98 (or 95 with a fat barrel) is arguably the best break-barrel rifle you can buy.

    Heavyweight v's lightweight?

    Underlever v's break-barrel?

    Straightforward stock v's adjustable?

I've owned both - 3 of each TBH (well, 4 really - 3 95's and a 98) - and for all round ease of use and shoulder/user firendliness my vote goes to the 98.

Yeah it's a tough choice mate but you will have a cracking rifle at the end of it. Try and shoulder both and see which you like the best
