Has anyone noticed the prices that some gun shops and online retailers are asking for their airgunsI was on a site called Micks Guns .....an ASI Paratrooper (complete with rust!)......£300
I thought maybe it was a typo and there was an extra zero or something then I saw a Webley Eclipse...£425, a Vulcan also £425 then a Colchester Gamekeeper, which lets be honest, there are people on here who could make a rifle better than this.....£1300
the only thing that worries me more than the prices is if someone actually pays that

Webley Tempest .22
Custom Crosman 1377 American Classic
Umarex Colt 1911 A1
Yes some of the prices are laughable. Obviously its the old "if you dont like the price then dont pay it" which I certainly wouldnt but it makes you wonder what planet some people are on that they actually think someone would be stupid enough to pay that.
Its annoying me as there higher prices seem to be raising s/h prices, when I was looking for an aa the first time s400's were going for around 250-300 secnd hand, can't find any for that price atm, anyone recommend some good sites to pick up 2nd hands other than gunstar and trader?
It's simple, there is very little competition, but having said that, I've seen private used sale adds exceed the price of the best priced retail add for a brand new version.
Then again you walk into somewhere like Redbeck last year and walk out with a serviced and tuned HW100 T for £400...
Vote with your feet/wallet! the price of everything is creeping up, and flying up in some cases, but it's up to people to say no.
I always try and use local businesses, even though in some cases it costs more, but my local gun-shops prices were getting silly, not to mention the guy was a mardy a**e, so now I get pellets etc. online, cheaper and no fuss.
You've just got to keep your eyes open for bargains these days, and be quick when you see them!
A lot of dealers are miserable, lying gits. I rang my local gun shop a few weeks ago to ask about an NS50. He told me that they had them in stock, so I duly drove the 18 miles to get there, only to find......no NS50! He tried to sell me an NS200 (which I don't need/want) before trying me with a pulsar N550!
Cue 18 mile trip home fuming and ranting!......
2012 tally:
Rabbit: 4, Woody: 2, Collared: 18, Magpie:1 Crow:1 Rat: 63
I always have respect for people who try to support small business' but when you know that they are just being greedy then I tend to never use them again. Its true that there are still some realistic people out there though who actually realise that a second hand rifle should not be the same price (or in some cases more expensive) as a brand new one. Just got to keep your eyes open I suppose. I just thought asking £300 for a rusty Paratrooper was embarrassing.
