reparallaxing scopes

    reparallaxing scopes

    just on some imfo on how to reparallax a bushnell 3500 10 x 40 scope , it set at 50mtr want to reset to airgun distances 25 mtr-ish ,

    You unscrew the front bell ring,then twist the lense outwards( i think if i remember right) to focus on closer ranges,be VERY careful not to screw it all the way out,most scopes ive done have been able to do this with fingers but some scopes you may need to use a metal rule or something similer to unscrew,then just put end ring on again without moving the inner lense,its been a while since ive done one myself and ive never done a bushnell but should all be the same.

    On the bushnell the lens is fixed to the front ring, as you turn the ring the lens rotates with it. You'll only need to turn by 1/4 turn at a time until it's as you want it. The problem then is that it leaves a gap between the ring and scope body. 2 options, put tape around it or try and find a rubber O ring of correct size to fill the gap(tape is OK if using a butler creek or similar as it'll cover the tape). Whatever you do don't remove the ring completely or you'll lose the gas that the scope is filled with (have heard of this happening more than once).
    HW97k, CustomStock, Hawke Varmint 2.5-10x44/Tasco 35x44.

    or you could just get an AO scope.

    Its not to tricky mate,like i said aint done one for a while but ive done a few including my old leupold m.8 and simmons wtc.
