no lead lubricates the barrel anyway, you could if you wanted the extra edge but washing your pellets would give you more accuracy anyway

I just put a few drops of Napier Power Lube in a tin, does what it says, works well! Not too expensive, unless you forget where you left the damned bottle, then when you have bought a new one, opened it and taken the few drops out, you find the old bottle...

Lubing pellets for multi shot PCPs can help the magazine indexing but for accuracy washing is the better bet and very easy to do. After that you get into weighing and sizing, but that's far too anal for me.

I lube my pellets for the S10 when I can be bothered but unlike secretagentmole I do not put a few drops in a tin as you are likely to get those few drops stuck in a couple of pellet skirts which will lead to inconsistencies. I use a ziplock bag, put a few drops in there, massage it around the bag then add your pellets (I weigh out roughly enough for a full fill on my S10 using kitchen scales, which helps as it has no pressure gauge) and rattle them around in the bag. That way you get a very slight but even coating of pellet lube and a handy way to store a full charge worth of pellets in your pocket without getting them covered in crap and fluff.

Use the best quality bags you can find as they will rot over time.

Not good in spring guns can make it worst. Like Ian said only a small drop pit in a small sealed bag small sample of say 25 pellets gently roll pellets in the bag. I've tried and I'll be honest can't find any difference best way is to bench test.

I have a few questions that I hope someone can clear up for me. is there any real advantage to washing pellets instead of lubing them, what is the point of washing them in the first place, do they have some sort of lube residue from the manufacturing and packing process and what is the problem of washing or lubing pellets for use in a spring rifle?

thanks in advance to anyone who can explain things a little better to me.

don't you wad them because in the manufacturing process they can end up with tiny bits of lead like iron filings? i hope that makes sense?
