    Bipod placement

Just picked up a cheap bipod for my BSA R10 but looks good and pretty well made and I'm wondering where to place it ?
Some say place it as far forward as poss ie on the bottle but then that's gonna make the gun heavier at the front so it's a balance issue or just on the stock using existing qd but then it partially covers the fill hole ? I could drill out a portion so this isn't a issue and then there the question of which way to have the legs fold which would you guys go for ?

Can't comment on the placement mate, don't own a R10 but as far as the way the legs should fold is concerned, they should face forwards when closed. If you have them the other way you risk the bipod collapsing when you're leaning into the rifle to take a shot.

I have mine facing forward too,it is a bit of a pain with it covering the fill port but to be honest it doesn't take a minute to whip it off and put it back on again,it comes on and off anyway depending on what I'm doing

I thought if I was to drill out a channel I could leave it on and still be able to re fill it as most of my shoots are gonna be with the bipod il have to have a look whilst waiting for my scope to arrive its a cheap scope but as with anything there's good and bad comments zos 6-24x50 esf ir can't put anything else too pricey as money's going towards a custom aas410 .177 it's a beauty il get some pics up soon as I get it in my hands
