I'll tell you why I like Springers.............

I've got a HW80 MK1 that is still going strong after 26 years, I have replaced the spring and the guide but that was only because the friend I bought it off thought it was perfectly fine to fit the rifle with an illegal spring. other than that the rifle is totally original and I have had it confirmed that it shoots as good now as it would have done when it was brand new.
can you really tell me that a pcp would still be like new after 26 years of use and no new parts?

The spring was not illegal.. You can't make a spring illegal... By fitting it to a rifle you CAN make the rifle illegal.....Not the spring.

I agree 100% with what you've said apart from the last part which is incorrect. PCP's will always out shoot springer's but they're not for me.

using my 97K in .22, I have been just as accurate as two friends of mine who both shoot pcp's. one has a HW100 and the other has a AAS410.
I must say that I do like a few pcp's but I don't think you can beat a springer for reliability. I went to redbeck shooting in Wakefield last week and had a play with a limited edition daystate red ranger which was amazing, I would have taken it home with me if I had the £1500 asking price, sadly my current budget is only £500.

show me someone who can shoot a springer accurately at 30 yards, that is a good shooter.
a pcp is much lighter so is easier to handle, they have no recoil to affect accuracy and you don't need good trigger control and follow through to shoot one accurately.
