Mcavoy Guns Standish Burgled/Robbery 04/05 January 2012

Hi everyone,

Just a quick note for members on here that Mcavoy Guns in Standish near Wigan (Greater Manchester) was robbed in the last 24 hours.
Robbers have apparently made off with a fair few guns including a shelf full of Weihrauch rifles of varying types and a shelf load of Berretta shotguns.

If anyone gets offered Weihrauchs at unbelievable prices or a shiny new shotgun. Think twice and if you are suspicious get in contact with the shop and have the serial number checked.

hope McAvoys get it all sorted soon ... they worked hard with the new shop ..... after a few stumbles on the way.

Always found them helpful and polite.

Sad to read that, Ive had a few dealings with them in the past and found them to be a good company.
Everyone please be extra vigilant not to help these thieveing barstewards get any money out of you and report any suspicious activities to the moderation team as well as the shop.

It makes me sick to hear that this has happend to such great guys who have given all they have, to bring better service to our great sport. For some thieving sods to take what they like without a care for others, to be honest this makes me feel sick.
If there is anyting i can do to help with building works shout up. joiner by trade, all work would be free of charge.

It is incredibly upsetting to all of us at McAvoys that we have been broken in to. Just over a month after we moved to the new shop. They have taken 14 shotguns & eight air rifles, but there were witnesses, our CCTV & also CCTV from other locations too & the police are deeply investigating the case & have been superb. Watching it back was very surreal & awful.
We will be able to confirm full details of the serial numbers etc shortly. All of the Air rifles were indeed Weihrauchs - all but one of which were brand new. There is a selection of new & used shotguns - four of which were Berettas. Don't suppose the shotguns will show up for sale anywhere online, but I should expect they will sell on the air rifles.
Will keep you posted as things progress.

That is really bad news both from the business's point of view and from the fact that criminals have managed to get a hold of some more firearms.

Like Titch has said welcome to the forum guys its a shame it had to be under such sickening circumstances i so hope they catch these toe rags and you manage to resume business as soon as possible .
