    Left hand, cutom, BSA ,airsport, stock

    I have just fineshed this Left handed BSA stock, i made it from my own Elm that i cured for 10 years, nice straight grain and shots well for my first stock. The butt's made from Brazilian rose wood.

    Very nice job. I wonder how well elm will perform as a gun stock, I know its a good wood, just a pity there isn't more of it around these days, they're dropping like flies around here, been a really bad year for dutch elm disease

    1/2 pound more but thecomfort of having my first left hand grip is worth it

    I had two old dead elms on my property and i planked them both and have made furniture, guitars and now this, I 'm taking the risk on the stock as the grain is tight and straight but not as dens as oak, i will report back after more playing.... sorry testing.

    Not sure on Elm however Oak has a 'tanin' in it which is not good for the action.
    I would sugest you keep an eye on this one after all the hard work you have done .........
