As far as I am aware it is perfectly legal, breaking the law only happens when the power is over 12fpe

Ok i know this is a sensitive subject and want to state that i am only interested in servicing the rifle myself and keeping the power around 11 FPE.
I recently purchased a second hand Mk1 S200 .22 and think its a real gem of a rifle, now looking for a .177 S200.
I'm a precision engineer by trade now running a fully equipped CNC shop so have the facilities to work on this rifle, i have been looking for a Mk2 Pre AT S200 .177 with no luck and am now considering a brand new .177 Mk3 from the shop.
I am more than capable of servicing the rifle myself and like to be "in control" which is currently putting me off the Mk3.
The question i have is can i remove the AT legally and replace with standard "non" AT parts and is the rifle basically the same as the Mk2 with these removed/replaced (EG does it have the M3 thread on the side of the action block once the rivet type head/bolt is removed)?
The warranty is not really of concern i should also add.
Thanks
Tony

I can't remember ever drawing £100 from the cash point after midnight for anything positive...
At is not a legal requirement so its perfectly ok to remove.
The rivet head is just a shear bolt.
Removing the anti tamper is fine mate. Nothing illegal about it. You'll have to do it yourself though as AA refuse to remove it from their rifles.
OK guys
Seems like a green light to buy new and an end to my search for a Mk2
Any other info greatly appreciated
Thanks again guys,
Sounds like a POP to change so will be buying new and modifying as opposed to the endless search fro a Pre AT MK2![]()
Just to let you know got the new gun and sorted no problem, now set at a respectable 11.5fpe
Thanks for the advice guys
i think it AT that is was just something the makers had to put in there guns to keep the goverment happy
