I kinda see where you're coming from but there are some shockingly built cheap guns about, this is from experience. That being said, Chinese guns have come a long way after comparing an early Xs78 I was given with my brothers fairly new QB, completely different bit of kit. There does seem to be a little inverted snobbery around daystates and the like sometimes but I think it is mainly meant in jest, oh and the S4** fanboys

I'm not a gun collector but prefer to stick with 3or 4 that I can shooting well!! I'v had a number of Chinese guns as well as the higher priced German and British offerings. My most recent Smk Xs20 has been made to a very high standard considering it's modest cost. As for it's performance? I got a custom made Venom spring off Welsh Willy coupled with a few home made Delrin parts and Hw95 trigger blade. The gun shoots every bit as well as The Hw95 it's cloned from at under half the price!! In these times of low wages and high unemployment why spend a fortune as it won't make you a better shot

Each to their own so to speak , just because someone favours a certain make of gun be it expensive doesn't make them a snob . We all have our favourites for our own reasons . I bought my s400 after shouldering many guns beforehand and found it the most comfortable in my affordable price range , also an accurate and reliable rifle . I think it's also nice and I'm sure alot of guys will agree that your gun has to be aesthetically pleasing to an extent too , that's not snobbery that's just gun love .

while i agree with what you've said(most) i will say that these top gun makes ie daystate,air arms and the like ,will make you shoot better,but you must had a level of ability to start with.money can't buy shooting skill

If the factor driving someone to buy an air rifle is price, so be it. As long as people buying air rifles use them in a responsible mannor it doesn't bother me in the slightest who is using what. I have as much fun with my Career 707 and Daystate as I do with my QB79 or Crossman.
Each to their own, Just be responsible as there are enough clowns about.
