When chooseing a scope It's often mentioned price indicates quality.
I was looking for a scope for a particular use.
I knew cheap & nasty VFM scopes at the botton scale would not do.
I couldn't afford a top end scope especially as it's a short term use & undecided if I'll keep any new purchase or sell on once used.
I have several others I could borrow but that means rezero hassle later & a rifle without a scope for awhile.
WTC 6.5-2?x50, EB 10x44, Bushnell 65000 44mm.
The new scope has tough opposistion !!!!!!!!
I found a bargain AGS 8-32x56, new in the box.
Flip covers seem a bit flimsy but work very well, adjusting turrets have a lock ring, seem to adjust ok, the focus knob was so stiff the scope was unuseable untill I got an after market sidewheel, firm but smooth enough focus.
Mag selection is also firm but smooth.
Mildot, non I/R.
Out of the box It looked like my choice was a good one.
A budget VFM scope that ticked the box's before I bought it & ticked the box's again.
Clarity is good, the image goes darker on dull days as you increase the mag but not noticable in bright sunlight.
It does suffer from some white out but nothing that's bothered me so far.
Focus is close enough for 10yds shooting..
So far I've zerod in the garden & used it once out in the field, happy happy happy.
Long range clarity ???? well looking at objects at known long distancies I'm more than happy with it.
Two examples, If I could shoot that far a 135yds pine cone would be dead.
Radio masts several miles away, yes miles, I could see the guy ropes (thick steel wire) clearly.
Not a perfect scope, far from it & only briefly used but I've formed an opinion allready.
It's a keeper.
For the money It's a top notch VFM budget scope.
I managed to find a bargain but noticed JSR are selling the AGS version cheaper than there own JSR brand.
Same make, same scope, same company that makes them Etc.
Cheaper though so you could buy the AGS version instead of the JSR one & get the sidewheel as well & still have cash left over for a tin of pellets.
Leapers, JSR, AGS, if you can find a new AGS, are all the same.
Looking for a similar spec scope & not sure ????
Leapers glass is worth considering if your on a budget.
Shoot it. Cook it. Eat it.
