Going hunting ?
What's the best pellet ?
Ask your mates, ask the shop keeper, ask on here.
Most will say the most accurate, mostly you will find domes are the best over all air rifle ranges.
Flats & hollow points open up as the range increases.
Once you have an accurate pellet for the range you shoot at penetration is needed.
Not too much, especially at close range, especially at close range, some zip through & 177's are worse to do just that.
Next on the list, well, you have to hit it & get the pellet to do the damage otherwise your wasting your time, is expansion or fragmentation to increase damage to tissue, muscle & internal organs.
Do Norica Killers do what it says on the tin ?
Do Norica Killers live upto there name ?
I found the accuracy not so hot, a bit naff compared to many other pellets. they be a heat seeking missile in your rifle, not mine though.
Penetration, lets say ave, if it bounced off It would be the worst pellet available !!!!.
Penetration with the Norica Killers was nothing special, to me that suggests It's not likely to zip through unless the quarry is small & shot at close range.
So far competing against flats & other hollow points the poor old Norica Killer is struggling to keep It's head above water but still in there, for the short range moment, at longer ranges It's drowned.
I've found it will do one of three things, stay as it is, no surprise, alot of pellets do that depending on what they hit & travel through.
Some Norica Killers deform a little to squash up out of original shape.
Nowt unuseuall about that either, many other pellets etc'.
One though, just the one splatted into a spectacular spikey cornflake that looks the biz' & earned the name Killer.
I've heard of a few others getting similar results from the pellet hitting something hard.
Result then, just the one from me.
I'll be polite & just mention the Norica Killer looks like It's a good design & when (if) it works It'll work well.
I think I'll stick with domes for general shooting & flats for short range use.
Both includeing hunting within any limits.
Sadly I regard the Norica Killer as a non starter with to many limits.
