Nice, welcome to the SMK club. Usually the SYNXS is about 7-9 fpe out of the box. Seems you got a good one.

I think you'll find that they are 6ftlb out of the box. You have to tweak them to get any higher.

Have you chrono'd it by the way?
I have to agree. They are known to be low powered but are bought for shooting at paper targets rather than rats. They are notoriously difficult to get power out of. But its strength is the accuracy and the FO sights which are brilliant.

First thing to do with any gun is chrono it.

I've always been a bit dubious about SMK, my first rifle as a kid was a B2 and I'm surprised it didnt put me off!!

then again it wasnt that bad for what I was using it for back then, shooting my action men to bits in the back yard!!

ahhhh, the bliss of memory lane
My first rifle was an el gamo back in 1985 and the SMK is remarkably simlar. Only real difference is the SMK SYNXS is very light with its plastic stock. Not a fan of plastic on anything but the important bits are sure good enough quality and power for pest control. Not shot anything living yet and probably wont ever again but it puts clean holes in a tin of quality street, I thought they would bounce off. Impressive for £35.

Me, I prefer light weight rifles and can see no point in heavy ones. I got shut of my XS 36 because of the weight and plastic helps to keep the weight to a minimum. I am a big fan of plastic on most things.

hi i bought my SYNXS from our local multi out of town department store, its called trago mills its a cornish based outfit but they have a massive store near newton abbot, my gun was 38 quid my 4x28 scope was 15.00 (inc mounts) and my gamo padded bag was 12.00, marksman pointed pellets are 4.50 for a box of 500, so it goes to show the mark up some stores make which in this climate might not be such a good thing as ive seen the synxs priced at over a hundred quid on some online shops websites.
