Well i thought i would do a write up on my HW45 Silver Star .177.
I have had it a bit now and been using it a lot to try and master the beast.
I bought it off this site this year, i already have a Berreta 92f co2 .177 and when i saw the HW45 i thought hmmm everybody raves about them so i bought it.
When it landed i opened the box and just looked at it and thought wow it looks even better in the flesh. I love the look of it and the pistol handle just sets the silver star off a treat.
Once out of the box i was very surprised at the weight.....its a good old size pistol but pretty light. Compared to the Berreta 92 which is smaller the silver star is light. I thought to my mistake this will be easy to shoot
Well the build of the silver star is pure HW, built to last. Well in my hand it fits nice and and you feel in control of it (little did i know until fired)Its pretty easy to cock and load up, cock half way for half power or cock all the way for full power. Well i went full power, safety off and wow i had not even seen the yellow glow bits on the sights, class. I squeezed the trigger my god where did that hit!!
it has some kick to it and was shocked and thought this is going to take some getting the hang of.
Well i have been using it alot over the last 3 weeks or so i had to drop to half power to get the feel of it when fired at first but back up to full power now. I don't claim to be the best shot in the world but when you master the art of shooting this lovely pistol my god it is deadly. I am starting to get some good groups on the targets with it now and feel happy with myself when aiming it's going to go pretty close to where i am shooting.
I have tested a few pellets through it and have settled on the FX brand, anybody wanting to get a good pistol this is the real deal but be warned it takes time to master it and get the full use out of it, the accuracy is second to none![]()

I too was in your postion regarding shall i get a HW45 Silver Star, when i saw it on here and just thought what the heck i'm bidding on it. It is a quailty pistol and would recommend it to any one, just been warned you have to master it, loads of practise and you will be over the moon how it performs![]()
Go for it
It takes some mastering with regard to the recoil but I found the weight compensates for this nicely with the .22 i have.
And i was hitting the bull 9/10 times once i got the sights zero'd in for me.
I found the best way to master this fine pistol is to have a long pull and a very light trigger. I pull the first stage back, steady my aim then just gently squeeze and booyah!
Dead rat
LOL good review and they really are the dogs balls![]()

what i love about the HW45s is you can use accessories from any full size M1911 because they're built to the sizes of them
i just posted a vid of me shooting a bulls eye with mine![]()
