    RWS Super Hollow Point Pellets.

The name RWS assures quality for a start & a quick look in the tin confirms they will be ok.
Well made & have been around for ages so again they must be good.
I've used them In .22 & .177 before & well pleased with them & I've yet to see a bad word about them on forums or in magazines.
    So far so good.
Then I discovered my presant rifle doesn't like them.
That doesn't mean the've suddenly become a bad pellet but If they're not accurate that's it.
I've allways been impressed with the so called knock down power before as It's a hunting pellet, hollow point expanding type.
As I had some left over I decided to examine them a little more.
Looking at the pellet side on the skirt rises up to a tight waist & the head is flat, well lets say shallow.
Look down onto the head & you see why It's called a hollow point.
Central cup inside the angled outer ring.
The majority of the weight is in the base of the cup / top of the skirt.
When the pellet strikes, the skirt head / cup base forces the outer ring down the skirt. The head has not enough lead to expand but by forcing the outer ring down the skirt the pellet dia' increases.
But & a big but most of the pellets I've recovered have had the ring stripped away leaving a small doughnut ring & the skirt part of the pellet transforms into a small dome shape pellet.
I know It's nothing scientific but if you'r curious you might find these interesting.
    RWS SHP review.
