    HW77K (V.Mach tuned .22)

This is a review of my recently V.Mach tuned, old HW77K. But first, the extras:-

    Bisley adjustable butt pad:
Well worth the money and easy to fit. It may make the gun a little longer but IMO is alot more comfortable than the original HW fitting

    Bisley push on silencer:
I got this for £20 secondhand, I wasn't too impressed to start with until I tried standing downrange and hearing only the pellet whizzing past. It hasn't effected accuracy but I wouldn't recommend tightening the grub screw very much at all, as this causes a bit of wobble and scratches the blueing. So far it hasn't worked lose after many hundreds of shots.

Nikko Sterling Mountmaster 3-9X40 AO scope:
For under £45 posted you wont find a better scope. Sturdy, rugged and very clear in most light conditions. I only had a slight bit of milkyness when shooting into the morning sun at full mag the other day but this didn't put me off.

    The Gun:
And what a gun! The power is now up to the legal limit with only a 4fps spread over 10 shots. Muzzle flip is pretty much non existant as is the recoil when using the right pellets. On the subject of pellets, strangely it used to like superdomes but now I cant hit anything with them. It now likes the AA field 5.52mm or the Falcon Accuracy Plus. It feels like this gun is more than capable of good killzone shots out to 50yds and probably further as soon as I am more capable.
To say I am happy is an understatement. I had a go on a couple of Air Arms springers over the weekend (in .177) and they simply didn't compare, I also tried it against a new HW97K (in .22) and again, my gun definately had the edge.
Fitting your own kits is all well and good, but, if you want the best I would say get a pro to do the job. I never want an un-tuned springer again!

The tuning cost me in the region af £100. If you want it done Lyn will let you know how much your particular gun will be. He also specialises in kits for the Chinky stuff and spring replacement for HW90's and he doesn't do it for a living, more for the love of it. Although he is an RFD and sells alot of the Chinky guns ready tuned for good prices. hth

Sorry to bump an old thread - but I'm going down this route, so will post my review when it returns.

    Also a 77 (not a 77k though) in .22.

Same here when 97 comes back. On superdomes they where a sloppy fit years ago but the tin I have now seem firmer in the bore.
