    SMK B2 .22

Well ive decided to a review of my my new smk b2 .22 air rifle

I bought this rifle off camm (member on here) it came very well pakaged and on time, cant fault the service at all and id reccomend him as a seller to anyone

Basically, i got this rifle brand new for £50.00 delivered, with an smk 4x32 mil dot scope, not bad if you ask me.

After paying for this gun i started reading a lot of reviews on the internet and about 99% of them were terrible, saying thing's like it would be more affective if you threw it at a rabbit etc etc, there's no power, very inaccurate etc etc, so i was kinda thinking that id made a big mistake

That was untill it arrived today, and well im actually quite impressed, once i got the scope zero'd in it's actually pretty acurate for a £50.00 rifle im hitting 1 pence coins 9/10 times at 15/20 yard's, but i was expecting not to be able to hit a shoe box at that range after the reviews id read.

That's the accuracy side sorted, now on to power again after the review's i was'nt expecting much on the power side of thing's, but to be honest that did'nt bother me because im only using it for target shooting.
I set a yellow pages up 15 yards away took aim and fired, i was suprised that the pellet managed to get to page 465 before the hole started to turn into a dent in the paper, so it's more than powerful enough for target's

Im using milbro twin ring high velocity dome pellet's, im new to this air rifle stuff so im not sure about what makes a good pellet, but they seem pretty accurate, in this gun anyway.

Build quality..............Well it's pretty ropey at best, all the screw's needed tightening, the finish on the wood is horrible (and worse up close) but what can you expect really from a £50.00 chinese rifle.

To summarise, i think this is a good first timer's rifle, fair enough its not that nice looking, and pretty heavy, and more than likely no where near as accurate or powerful as some of the rifles in the £100+ bracket, but for what i want it for it's perfect.

Im going to strip it soon, and lube the internals (it sounds a bit dry) and sand and paint the stock either matt black, or some camo design (im still undecided?)

So that's it, my first (proper ish) rifle, and my first review, over the weekend im going to take it to my place where i have permission and see how it fare's over a longer distance, all in all im really pleased with my purchase and would definately reccomend camm as a seller so thank's for reading everyone..........

    Oh and here's a pic.................!

Feel free to comment, i also don't mind a bit of constructive criticism

Well I did have one of these, and still have a underleaver version Which I would use to beat thiefs around the head with!
(Aint much use as anything else!)
Free to a good home if anyone wants to collect it! LOL (NOW GONE!)

Dont take this the wrong way but if you are new and never owned anouther gun ure review is fair and just.
However once you have shot any other decent gun be it a Webley, BSA, Diana whatever, U rather quickly apreciate how dam horrible these guns are!

You will prob find that over longer distances acuracy will suffer dramaticly, also you will have to tighten them screws up regulary to stop the stock falling off!

Save ya cash and buy yaself a nice springer if you keep with this great hobby :-)

    Good review.

They do get alot of crap, because they are a very cheap and simple rifle. But thats perfect for a newb because 1, if you break it.. its not the worst loss of money. 2, if you can hit things with that, you would be amazing with a pcp/gas.

I had one years and years ago but cant remember much. But I know 850sniper (jay) had one not long ago until upgrading to an Air magnum then upgrading again to a webley lite w8 pcp. But he got a few kills with it and had no problems with it

Yeah i know what you mean, if i fired something better this would seem really bad in comparison, but im going to get around that by not firing anything else lol.

Basically i got this just to try the sport, if i find im getting more and more into it i will get myself something a lot nicer, but for the moment im just going to enjoy it paint it and see what happen's.

This is definatley the most fun £50.00 ive spent this year, ive had worse night's out for that sort of moneylol.

Also im hopefully going to get around the screw problem with a bit of lock tight and see how long it holds for

this was my first gun and i still have it, the build isnt great but hey i paid £40 for it, can group 1.1/4inch at 25yards which isnt bad for the price. just keep it clean and lubed. mine puts out 10.7ft/lb with accupells.
