Right, so as some of you may know i recently picked up a Webley Alecto pistol in .177 recently. The gun cost me £100 + my custom 2250b ratty (i knew the deal was more appealing to the other seller but 2250 wasnt being used and i was ready to take on my first pistol).
Upon receiving the item from 'agoodier' <-- pr!k...the pistol was not working and every other shot the pellets would just fall from the barrel. Also the gun was advertised as new at xmas and showed a red dot fitted. Item came and was a mk1 not a mk2 and the red dot did not actually fit the pistol as it was the one for the mk2
....anyyyyyways long story short i was ignored by Anthony Agoodier so i contacted 'the airgun doctor' (highly recommended by the way). Rather than charge me for repairs he gave me a step by step guide on an attempted fix over the phone and it worked a treat! He new the gun well as he had several custom versions himself.
So ive had the gun working half an hour or so...set up the open sights, both front and rear adjustable, trigger and the adjustable hand piece and its spot on! for someone who has never shot a pistol or open sights before the grouping was great at 10 yards. Heres a pic of about 8 or 9 shots using rws hobby pellets and not long returning home from the gym so arms were shaking like crazy.
I think the gun is very easy to use on 1 pump or 2 pumps, the third is a bit stiff but not really worth the effort as 2 pumps is giving just short of 5.5lb ft. I also think part of the accuracy is to do with the hand piece and absolutely no recoil. I think the moulded adjustable grip makes you hold the gun in exactly the same position every time you use it so you keep your consistency, and in my opinion it feels well balanced, not too heavy, not too light. It also has an adjustable trigger, accessory rails both top and bottom and a nice and easy to use safety system.
I would recommend this pistol to anybody, it comes in a neat little carry/storage case that has a slot for pellets, adjusting tools, cleaning kit and lubricant (all supplied other than pellets). I think after getting used to it i might sell it on and buy a new one in .22 (my preferred calibre) and use the red dot and torch add ons for quick and easy rat smashing at my new perm. I cant wait to get it out again in the light this weekend and have a good hour or 2 with it

Nice pistol, I nearly bought it from him - glad i didnt but im glad you got it all sorted now and your happy with it.
What exactly was the problem and the fix??
not entirely sure to be honest, think it was a rag from machining that i found in the rear port which connects to the brass washer at the rear of the gun. I just stripped it down to individual parts, cleaned and polished up all oring surfaces, greased o rings, oiled and greased any moving parts and rebuilt it being very conscious of all alignments...since then is firing up to power and deadly accurate, ive tried a leak detector around all the seals and no leaks or anything so its sweet as a nutif any one is interested in buying it i may sell up as i fancy one in .22....im happy to do f2f or video a 10 shot group or something along them lines to show its running as it should
