I just stripped it down to individual parts, cleaned and polished up all oring surfaces, greased o rings, oiled and greased any moving parts and rebuilt it being very conscious of all alignments...since then is firing up to power and deadly accurate, ive tried a leak detector around all the seals and no leaks or anything so its sweet as a nut if any one is interested in buying it i may sell up as i fancy one in .22....im happy to do f2f or video a 10 shot group or something along them lines to show its running as it should
It sounds like it was a faulty pistol i.e. from new unlless there was some dirt/hair etc. in the internals. if your selling for cheap i may be interested

its not attached its just for storage, and no, it has been designed to lock into the groove behind the front sight, so you put it on, zero it, then you can take it on and off whenever you want and it will hold zero...quite a good idea as you can use both open sights aswell

yeah, its one hell of a gun, i have just bought a 45 silver star which im loving at the moment aswell. I did have the alecto up for sale to fund the 45 but think i might keep both now although i promised myself i would have 1 or the other. I will see as im considering moving over to pcp rifles and may sell to help fund that

i have one of those holographic red dots with 4 different reticules and its fantastic
as jonny says it can be removed for storage and providing you have the slot in the top rail it does not need re-zeroing the next time you attach it
