Hi everyone,
After having the above rifle for a little while I thought I would write a little review for those that may want to have one of these bargain rifles.
These rifles came out over the last couple of years as part of a new breed of well priced PCP's and as a result I think its fair to say they have had their teething problems. On-line reviews have mentioned anything from dodgy groupings to low shot counts and weird build quality. Having looked into these a little further a lot of the original PCRs were sent back to the manufacturer who as expected, aimed to solve the problem. The result was very good as like mine and many others, problems have been very limited. Especially considering that the gun as new cost less than £300.
I bought mine used on a bit of a whim as wanted to try it out and handed over a fairly reasonable sum for a gun that had barely been touched. After using this rifle I can confirm that I got a bargain. Not because it was cheap but the fact that I have been able to get tight groups at 35+ yards and been hitting spinners out to 50 yards. For me this is amazing as I am not the most skilled marksman by a long way.
The way I look at this gun is as a glorified Crosman. A little rough out of the box but with a bit of use becomes a good little gun. The cocking action on mine was a little gritty at first but a few hours shooting and a bit of oil made it much better plus once the barrel had a good amount of lead through it it was nice and accurate. The trigger also loosened off a little which made it a little easier to manage.
I would recommend sticking a decent silencer on it, not forgetting that its a 10mm fit like the brocock rifles as it can be a little loud without. I managed to pick up silencer and adapter at the local shop for £40.00.
The shot count on these is not the best in the world but my .177 calibre manages 40ish before the power drop kicks in. To be fair, its pretty rare that I need to take 40 shots in one day, especially when used as a hunting gun.
Woodwork is something that was complained about on a couple of the forums but having not seen their guns I couldn't comment. I would say its the sort of quality you might expect from a BSA lightening or Supersport. Solid and effective but not designed to be the prettiest in the world. The pistol grip style will not be for everyone but I find it fairly comfortable.
As with all rifles its a case of personal preference but I would recommend anyone try one out. Its never going to be a daystate but in the right hands it will be just as effective for simple plinking or hunting.
If I had read the reviews of the PCR1 before I bought it, I would not have touched it but having owned one I cant see what the problem was. Maybe I got lucky, but this gun is genuinely good. Simple and effective and I think would make a good starter PCP for most that you can always improve a little as you go.
Hope that helps someone make a decision on whether to go for one of these but I cant believe more people don't own them already. What more could you want or need.

good review mate! I was looking at these a while back as a local shop was selling them for £175 new (they still are - www.deepblueshooting.com ) - they still have some left too! i wish i'd seen your review before!
Thats a seriously good price. I believe deep blue are stopping their gun sales so are currently selling off everything dirt cheap. Good time to buy if you fancy one as it means most can then afford to spend a few more quid on a decent silencer and scope.

i also own one mate , i done a swap with another member on here, i though it looks rather nice with the thumb screw stock very light and very accurate to ,good for a days huntingps loved your review ojs
Note - If anyone wants a 10mm threaded silencer for the PCR or Brococks let me know.
Cheers,
