no unfortunately the beam is not adjustable or able to be dimmed, but when using the filter if you use 2 layers of acetate then it dims it quite a lot.

also the on/off switch is a button on the rear part that unscrews to take the batteries, unfortunately there isn't a separate remote switch ,although i cant see why one couldn't be made up with some wire and a small flick switch.

now onto how i made the filter, it really was easy and cost pence (if that) one of the standard sports caps off a bottle of pop was what i used (i think it was buxton water i cant remember as i robbed it from my daughters school bag) - some things take priority! , next i robbed my other daughters 3d glasses as i couldn't find the acetate sheet anywhere (ive now seen it on fleabay for a pound a sheet) next job drill out the end of the sports cap and superglue the small piece of red acetate onto it and trim round the edges, all you do to fit it is push onto the end of the torch (you may need to put a bit of tape around the end of the torch to tension it up a bit) then its job done, you could use any colour acetate you feel would work, green, blue, orange etc etc, and im sure you could make a better one than i use as mine was a rush job as i needed it that night. Ive also read that a red sweet wrapper is just as effective although dont bother with roses as they are coated with silver foil.

hope that helps a bit and sorry to drone on again.
    cheers simon

I do like the idea of a head torch so that I don't have to keep the rifle in my shoulder to see what is in front of me.
this is something I have used in the past before mine stopped working.
i got my self a cammo cap from BOYES,they have 4 small led lights on the front on the peak.not to bright.but enough for walking about,a simple on/off button.

I was going to get one from decathlon but I wasn't sure.
I do prefer the idea of a head torch though.
