    My guns - Complete review.

Hi all, Ive been meaning to do this for some time now, a full review of my guns so those that are curious can learn a bit
Ive been air gunning for about 24 months now, seriously for around 18. I started of with a cheap SMK B2. My god, if i could hit a can at 20 yard i was happy. Then again a cheap DB4 underlever, both using open sights so me and my friend could have a plink. They were good fun, but i am no match for a springer. Im a big guy, (6.2" 15 Stone) But i just could not use these springers, heavy and horrible recoil!
So my first proper rifle was a Airmagnum 850 - lovely gun. 8 Shot side bolt , CO2 rifle.
It was HEAVY. The XT version is a fully wooden stock not the hollow plastic. I've recently swpped this set up on here.
    So anyway here we are:
    WP_000261.jpg
This is my garden. Or - Personnel shooting range. My neighbours are happy with what i do, ive shown them how i do it all and the safe sides of it etc. I didn't have to do this, but i think its useful and saves them complaining. Behind my house is a very large field which i also have permission to shoot on. I don't , its a corn field once every three years and have NO Rabbits what so ever, but this just covers me incase a pellet should leave my garden. As you can see downrange i have my backboard , made of 2 inch thick wood with my target infront. My target is a shoebox filled with old tshirts and stuff, then on the front i put a fresh piece of A4 paper and a nice Shootnsee birchwood target. These are fantastic. The range is around 45 Yds Which is good for me

    So i have... :
    WP_000257.jpg
My set - I get it all out when i have a good few hours plinking. Usually with a friend on a nice day and some ice cold shandies or such. I keep most of my things in an old ammunication box thats under my bed (Targets , camo nets, clothing etc) and the guns seperately, all with trigger locks and now due to the changes , securely chained. The ammo is ALWAYS Kept in a safe we have in the house. I keep them both seperately - So if anyone did get their hands on the guns, they couldnt use them. This may be overkill, but its my piece of mind.

    So firstly my S400 :
    WP_000258.jpg
I got this gun off here about 8 months ago , it was well used but still in good condition. IVe had a few leaking problems and had to change a few parts, and now it needs a good seal change but other than that its beautiful This was my first PCP. A lovely single shot, thats remarkably light. I was amazed how silent PCPS are when i first got this, its very accurate too. the barrely and moderator were quite scratched - Some of you may remember i tried the Birchwood casey blueing kit and failed horribly! So off to Knight Guitars on here who did some FANTASTIC PArkerising on the parts. Absolutely stunning job - A brilliant chap to work with. You cant see if very well in the pics :
    WP_000260.jpg
    WP_000259.jpg

This is easy to clean, doesnt show fingermarks and is very hard wearing - Ive bashed it a few times and not a mark! I deffinately recommend this treatment to your gun if your ever in that position - And i deffinately recommend Knight Guitar to do the job.
In terms of accuracy - Please note im not an expert, but a half deacent shooter - This is my grouping at 45YDs with the S400 :
WP_000262.jpgThere were 10 shots on this, 2 straglers but the rest pretty deacent - 3 pellet on pellet!
The s400 is a pleasure to shoot, very sensitive trigger but it can be adjusted. Id say a brilliant single shot PCP for a beginner or expert.

Next i have my hand guns. I love these, they look good and are great fun.
    WP_000269.jpg

    Firstly my S&W 586 ( I think? lol )
    WP_000272.jpg
Lovely looking gun , very big and very heavy. Real dirty harry style and often renouned as the best CO2 Pistol you can buy. It feels good to hold and shoot , the heavyness counteracts the recoil you get.
    WP_000273.jpg
It uses a nice CO2 loading method in which the caplet is placed in, the screw is tightened snug to the capl;et and then a lewver is pushed smooth with the gun which pierces the caplet. I get around 50 shots before drop of which is fantastic. One problem i have with this and its a big one to be honest, it can put me off shooting it - Is the way the side grip hides the caplet - It uses a grip which clips onto the caplet - This doesnt work and often times falls off, someimes in your hand which is very annoying .If anyone knows a fix do tell!
WP_000275.jpgIt uses a 10 shot 177 rotary magazine that auto indexes of course, as fast as you can pull the trigger! Its a two stage trigger and hammer which is fun. Again here, only the front of the faux barrely comes out which does spoil the looks a bit. The gun features no safety, which i dont like.
WP_000276.jpgThis is at 15 yards , most probably my shooting but hard to hit bull. The groupings are close and one pellet on pellet. 10 shots here. Overall i give the gun 6 / 10

    Secondly...:
WP_000263.jpgMY Dan wesson. I LOVE this gun, it has all the looks the S&W Should have , a lovely finish and really fun to shoot. It again takes a single CO2 caplet hidden in the trigger which slides back. the Magazine release trigger also functions as a safety which is a brilliant idea .
    WP_000265.jpg
The Magazine comes out to reveal a 6 shot chamber where "Bullet" go in. This is a gorgeous novelty which really make this gun. Each bullet takes a single .177 B. B . The magazine rotates and spins so you can even try a roullette game haha! the lovely sound when the slip the magazine back into the gun is priceless. Some fine the process very monotonous, putting a small ball into each bullet, then into the gun, then to shoot - but it feels brilliant! Buy some more if you feel you have to, but appreciate the whole gun, not just the shooting. I get around 32 shots before drop off. The recoil on this is insane, which makes it all the more fun!!
    WP_000267.jpg
6 Shots at 15 yards, very sporadic but in complete honesty, this gun is so fun to shoot i couldnt care less if i hit the target!! I will try and master this gun. I'd give it a 8/10.

    Thirdly :
WP_000271.jpgBaretta 92FS - Moving away from the revolver and onto the semi automatic pistols this is an amazing place to start. 8 shot .177 magazine, the release pushes the slide forward to reveal where the mag goes which makes a santisfying noise , accompanied with a nice safety like the real gun.
WP_000270.jpgNow this grip uses the same sort of way to reveal the caplet as the S&W - But is done in a much better way, instead of gripping the mechanism holds the grip on untill the release button is pushed. Its the same button that would normally release the magazine on the real gun. Uses 1 CO2 caplet. Nice looking and lovely to hold.
    WP_000268.jpg
8 Shots at 15 yards, nice groupings , one pellet on pellet and 1 stragler. This gun is lovely to shoot , feels quite powerful yet controlled in your hand. Deffinately recommend if this is your thing - Id say 8 / 10

    Lastly,My new and beloved R-10
IMG_0002.jpgThis is a beautiful rifle. Amazing wood, nicely chequred and brilliantly made. Ive got a HAWKE 4 - 12 x 50 IR Scope on it, which fits lovely , and finally managed to Zero it after some advice from Titch!
Its a very light gun which is a must for me, a 10 shot Rotary magazine which is even better! A brilliant rear bolt which just loves it rough.
    IMG_0003.jpg
An adjustable trigger but to be honest, is just how i like it straight from the box - Also with a nice safety, in reach for your thumb when aiming down sight. There is a shallowed part on the stock where your thumb would go much like a tumbhole stock - Lovely to hold. It has a built in regulator so it the same power pellet after pellet with a high power output. Quite high to be honest. Accuracy :
    IMG_0018.jpg
As you can see , this is 10 shots from 45Yds Mostly pellet on pellet. Not much more to say. Fantastic accuracy with high power. Im besotted with this gun of course id give it a 10/10.
    Love this thing!!

Well thats it, hope it's been helpful and if you have any other questions about the gun please ask!
Thank you all on the forum who have helped me get into this amazing sport!

    Yours Happily
    Tom

    EDIT :
The R-10 IS SO ACCURATE - I HIT A FLY at 45YARDS - NOTE THE BLOOD ETC ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TARGET , MUWAHAHAHA :
