    Post Ballistol Oil

Decided to try this product after seeing the finish one of our club members got on a refinished stock after using it. Apparently been around since the early 1900's - a 'universal' oil for cleaning barrels, protecting metal, lubing moving parts - even for treating cuts & scratches etc. Not had much experience of using it yet - will make further posts when I've tried it for different applications. One critiscism - if you buy the 50ml bottle its easy to knock it over and lose the contents!

Any one else had experience of this product?

    Cheers everybody

Brilliant stuff - I use it for loads of applications: my guns, leather (slings, boots/shoes, the sofa), the woodwork (guns & furniture) and it goes well with Indian Tonic Water on a Late Summer's Eve.

One of those uses I put it to is a lie.

I use it, great you can wipe over the whole gun with it.
I even hear it's good as a pellet lube.

I bought a small bottle off dbay recently as a test & apart from quite a strong smell it apears to be ok stuff.
I have used it on my action & beech stock, so far I'm happy with it.
It seems to have quite a following, let us know how it works for you ..... .........................

ps I decanted my little bottle into another with a bung/hole as only a small amount is required at a time ..
I’ve just found what I was looking for, it was where I left it …

Yes, I use old Oilatum bottles filled from a 500ml tin of Ballistol. These have inbuilt droppers. I keep one handy on the workbench and another in my shooting box. Trouble is, the other guys and gals at the ARC keep asking to use it and then wanting to keep it!!! Seems like a very popular product.

    Cheers
