All depends what's there in the first place but on the stocks I've applied it to it just sinks in and leaves a non-greasy finish as it's more of an all-round protector than a dedicated stock oil.

have anyone used, and then oiled over the top of it,as stock has been neglected for some time,as it sounds like it may be a good feed for the wood, then treat with oil for the looks i want.

Yeah, did it with my R10, my 100k's stock (o050cal0o can vouch for the nick of that) and also did it for the CS800 stock my '100 used to live in. Phillips English Walnut Preparation on top and the stocks were looking dandy.

so if i put a heavy coat of bally, then leave a couple of days then second coat,a couple more days ,then the finishing oil,and build up layers or is two coats of each enough, and is the end product very glossy as i want a mid sheen not a hard gloss.
