looking forward to hearing how you get on with this, a gun that has always caught my eye
This is a discussion on AA S410 TDR (.22) within the Airgun Reviews forums, part of the Airguns category; Well I was missing the Air Rifle for Rabbit shooting after selling my AA S310 Ambi in order to fund ...
Well
I was missing the Air Rifle for Rabbit shooting after selling my AA S310 Ambi in order to fund the .410 Hushpower Shotgun.
What a mistake buying the .410 was, i hated it .... i found it unbalanced, noisier than expected and was disapointed with the range and Pattern ... so i moved it on to a new home. part of the trade for it was a Mossberg S500 12G Pump and cash
So the new gun
Saw a TDR being advertised in the midlands (long way from kent) but was travelling up for a meeting and the deal was made
i got the Rifle and a new 12 Litre 300 bar bottle for half the price of a new TDR .. not bad
I do like the way the AA range shoot, super accurate and a doddle to strip and service at home
Initial impressions
There are a few marks on the barrel where the filler valve normally bangs, this i believe is common for the new filler type and i will address with a blueing pen and Arma oil.
Stock is fantastic, a little dry as it took a fair wipe of oil last night to stop it absorbing, being careful not to over oil. now look superb
Scope is a Rhino 6-24x50 ... not too sure about the scope, have set it positionally right on the rifle for my eye but not zeroed as too dark last night. the paralax seems weak as moving head slightly up/down/side loses the cross hairs ... maybe time for a new scope ( already made some enquiries here ... cheers Duggy )
Silencer is standard so i will see how that goes, possibly time for a new HW one and the gun needs a Rowan trigger .... lol
i will add to this as i get used to shooting her, last owner used AA Fields and gave me a few ... will see if she likes my favourite JJB's

Yeah let us all know how it performs, they do look a good rifle![]()
Just ordered a full seal kit for it, i will polish the hammer rail to give a smoother release and fit the new seals and seee where it needs attention
Hoping to get it set up at the weekend ... we will see how it goes

Mate put one of them Twink mods on it. I have one on my S410 and its great! Much better than the AA silencer.
Air Arms S410 Walnut Thumbhole Carbine - Twink Mod - MTC Viper 6-24x56mm IR
Brocock AimX Grand Prix .22
Anschutz 1417 .22lr - Swift Mod - Bushnell 6500 Elite 2.5-16 x 50
Browning 525 Hunter 12g
Totals 2012:
2 squirrel, 1 feral, 15 woody, 33 rat, 3 mice, 11 rabbit, 3 jackdaw, 2 carrion crow
is the twink a slip on or is an adaptor needed for the 10 mm barrel.
was thinking of going for an air cone / air stripper adapter and an HW .. whaere do i order a twink and what else do i need
See how it goes
ask the chap on the twink thread. He sorted my adapter i think.

well the Air Arms Mod has been replaced with a Twink and Adapter as recommended ... what a difference in shot rapport .... unbelievable
i have also replaced the rhino 6-24x50 with a hawke HD 3-9x50 and it fits the rifle much better and also fits back in the AA back pack

Sounds first rate. I've been thinking of going in this direction but am still pulled towards a Brocock Contour as a light hunter. Anyone make any comparisons between 22 & 177 for the TDR? This Twink is new to me - where will I find info?
