Dr Bob Lens Conversion Kit vs Camcorder Doubler Kit

    Hi all

As you probably know we are distributing the new Dr Bob Lens Conversion Kit for the Pulsar Digisight which uses the Pulsar 1.7x Lens Convertor.

There are quite a few members of online communities who have made their own kits with readily available generic 2x camcorder lenses so we put them both to test to see how much better our Dr Bob kit is.

You can see our test results here

    http://www.scottcountry.co.uk/Pulsar...Test-n1073.htm

Both lens kits were fitted to the same Digisight, a few moments apart to allow for refocusing to get the sharpest image possible.

Being completely honest, (and we have a demo model here if anyone wants to try both) I could read the text of the target through the Digisight with the Dr Bob kit, and barely make out there was text on the target using the 2x Camcorder lens.

Bearing in mind the Pulsar lens was designed for high specification Gen 2 + Night Vision devices, the quality difference is apparent from the start of the video.

The rabbits eye is barely noticeable using the camcorder lens, and I could read the target text clearly with the Dr Bob kit and Pulsar lens.

The videos have been slightly compressed for Vimeo so dont actually do the kit justice but I am sure you will agree there is a big performance difference.

    Thanks for reading

    Scott Country
