Egg is right the HW77 is probably the best springer ever made the rest followed the HW77. Pinpoint best to go to a range a good range all these guns will be there test shoot them all. I actually own them all and love all them each has benefits and each you can niggle at this and that.

Own both and out the box its an easy answer, the tx200 all day long, its basicaly already tuned from factory and shoots super smooth and accurate.
The 97k is still a cracking rifle but not as good out of the box, however after a tune the 97k is a different animal and better than the standered tx200 but not by much.
In my eyes buy a tx200hc if you want a rifle that will shoot smooth and great from the box,you will never have to do anything to it other than the occasional service...or..... get a 97k and tune it up,both are top of the game but in standered form the tx edges it![]()
.22 hw 97k(mike upton tuned)
.177 mk3 tx200hc
.177 hw80
.177 hw 100t
make no mistake these are both very good guns and the one i would choose is the tx 200 hc i have one in a .177 and use bisley magnums as they are a heavy pellet and no joke this guns is unreal on accuracy its just goes pellet on top of pellet at a target and 40 yards i have to say mine is a mk2 the mk3 is suppose to be a tiny bit better but i wouldnt know and cant see how it can be i mean i hit more with this than i did my last gun wich was the bsa scorpion in .177 so i would have to say get the tx200 hc in .177
I went down the local gun shop, dolphin and tried them both. Ended up walking away with the HW 97K in nickel with thumbhole stock. It looks far the better gun but when fired the TX200 took it but only because of the next to nothing recoil. The 97K also felt nicer to hold and I wanted the spring recoil feel whilst shooting as well as the spring cocking and never running out of CO2. I am very pleased with it and would recommend one very highly, also I may purchase the TX200 at a later date.
ive got to say the 97 is the better of the three
the tx200 takes some getting used to anti bear trap and right hand loading didnt do it for me as the lightning is a good gun but not as acurate at long range
the 97 was better balenced full open chamber for ambidextrus loading and very accurate
but saying that ive gone to pcp now and find them better all round costs me a quid to get it filled at my localgun shop and i get 50 shots
a lot lighter and accurate
