GLOCK 17 - 8mm Blank Firing Pistol Review

    GLOCK 17 - 8mm Blank Firing Pistol

    Price to pay - £125
    Ammo (50) box - £15-£20

    Verdict

    Pros
    Amazingly loud
    Great flash
    Semi-auto
    Large clip
    Weight

    Cons
Prone to jamming due to mag spring
    Umarex ammo

I was happy with my buy but the Umarex blanks seem to be ****. I have had rounds that have been struck by the hammer 2 or 3 times and the round hasn't gone off. Any one had this problem? I will change brand and get back to you.

I could see the point when they were the right colour, collections etc but in bright orange - as mentioned above - why?

Just buy a decent tin of spray paint VCR act only bans the sale of RIFs so perfectly legal - no different to carving a glock out of an old floorboard and painting it

I would assume its for experiencing the closest thing to a real firearm. I would like to try one out some day but I would think spraying them black is highly illegal. Modifications to blank firers is a pretty serious crime (could get you upto 30years in jail for converting one into a real firearm!).

By the way cant you just use regular blank 8mm rounds ?

The only thing that it does that a normal semi auto does is eject the spent round, exit port at the top not down the barrel so no realistic muzzle flash

What is a regular 8mm blank, I've only seen 8mm blanks for replica blank firers ?

Yes but its as real as you will get to a real gun without a FAC in the UK.
By regular 8mm blanks I mean non Umarex branded.

Having fired many rounds through both real semi auto's and replica's, I can tell you it ain't that close

Plenty of other makes of 8mm and 9mm PAK out there
