Well it is a year on since I Blue Printed the ol Pro Sport and put about a 1,000 pellets through it and taken a fair number of Rabbits and Pigeons. Time to check it on the Chrono and see where the power settled as I was worried it could possibly rise above 12 F/Lbs

So, slapped the Combro on her and rattled off 10 shots. first shot was at 11.2 F/lbs but this always happens as the lubricants seem to 'settle' and the first shot stirs them up again.

Wel I was pleasanty suprised to see the power was just the same as when freshly rebuilt, averageing at a consistent 11.75 F/Lbs with 8.3g .177 superdomes. The highest reading was 11.86 F/lbs so happy to leave it at that and check it again after another thousand pellets.

Why hasn't the power changed?. I can only presume that the rebuild took it to its maximum effiiciency and that there was nothing left to actually 'bed in' as per std guns. Everythign was working spot on after the rebuild and therefore it has not deviated either way. Very pleased with the results

Dunkman, you did the full monty when you tuned your Prosport and not just fitting a tuning kit, if you were asked to repeat this tune, with the Vmach kit already supplyed, how many hours work do you think it would take, to bring the rifle up to your spec ?
Pulling the trigger, is the point of no return, but it all depends on what your aiming at.

God knows how many hours as it was done bit by bit over about 3 weeks from memory. A 'guess' would be about 10-15 hours total work time I suppose?. The trigger took a reasonable bit of time to polish fully but having the right tools helps. There was not a lot of modding, just making better what the factory did. Very pleased with the results as it shoots superbly with no discernible jump/recoil and a super quick lock time. It just feels better all round, from cocking to firing.

If you weight Superdomes on a scale,( mines a gun powder type ), you will find that Superdomes in .177 weight 8.37 grains, dont believe what it says on the tin, there will always be a difference to what is stated.

I'd be interested to know what difference the rear shim made to the power I fettled with my tx not to the polishing standard but upped the power to 11.7 every time by delubing the factory gunk and relubing everything with moly and dry ptfe etc i used nowhere the amount of moly tou did on the piston and maintianed the stock internals sort of wondering what to do next. i am not keem on the trigger as it is It is better but as you said not in the same league as a rekord. i find it vague and spongey.

The Air Arms trigger as std is a wooly old thing and when you dissasemble one, you can see why. For a company that is proud to say how everything is made on CNC machine, the trigger components are not, merely (from what I can see) castings that are poorly finished. The improvment to the trigger by re-establishing decent edged contact faces that are then polished, made the release much crisper and repeatable so you know when the shot is coming.

The Moly on the piston is not so much to act as a lube (although it obviousely performs that function) but to provide some control as to how the piston accelerate as the grease has a damping affect and reduces the recoil by keeping everything in check rather than un uncontrolled release of spring energy.
