Knocked up a blast tamer and the results were instant. question is should it have an effect on the way the pellets leave the barrel, as i've just had to re zero as the zero was miles out.

Sorry for this but what will this do?
Ive heard them mentioned, i have a R10-SE so i presume its something that it could possibly benefit from?
    Cheers

reduces the hammer bounce, stops the rifle sounding like a wet fart:)

it can also increase the shot count by about 20%, great addition for small cylinder rifles:)

Sounds good, not the wet fart bit!
Is its something i can buy then fit or is it a diy job?
Worth doing on a r10 would you think?
    Thanks

Have a look at the John Bowkett fanpage on facebook for further information on the JB Blast Tamer, how he developed it, what for etc. It can be fitted to any of his designs that use his trigger mechanism in the BSA pcp range. It is not just for small cylinder models. BSA first used it under licence from JB for US 30 ft/lbs bull barrel Scorpions.

Sorry to jump in here but just heard of the term 'Blast Tamer' and it sounds a very worth while customisation. However am I right that it's only suitable for certain trigger designs? I have a Coyote and I'd like to a) increase shot count b) get rid of the wet fart sound ;-)

As above. There's a very good reason that your zero will be off which will need to be addressed asap...;)

The spring you've used looks a bit strong,

    which can incease the power!

OK blast tamer works for sub 12, but in higher power versions can't see it doing much but I could be wrong, so anyone fitted one running above 30

It was originally developed for the American market:)

so used on higher power rifles.

Could not fit one on my R10 due to the Huma reg being bigger and being in the way.

Sorry to drag this old thread up.
I've just fitted an XTX Huma reg to my 12ftlb .22 BSA Ultra SE and have yet to test shot count, but noticed the bolt bouncing when test firing before filling with air. Huma reckons I'll get 50ish good shots from a 232bar fill down to the reg pressure of 80bar, but I was wondering if a blast tamer might help?
